We are Airsource Ltd, and we are located at Unit D, Dales Brewery, Gwydir Street, Cambridge CB1 2LJ. We want you to have confidence in us to look after your data and ensure that it's kept safe, and that's why we have written this privacy notice ourselves and not asked a lawyer to write it for us.
This privacy notice applies to our application Cellar 2.
We don't think that the information we capture is personally identifable. But since the definition of "personally identifiable information" is a bit vague - probably to the benefit of lawyers - we've tried to give a full disclosure of what we do capture below so you can judge for yourself whether you think we're trustworthy.
If something doesn't work and you report it to us using the in-app support mechanism, we do then record this information in our issue tracking system. We may correspond with you using the address you submitted the issue with. You can check the contents of what will be sent to us by reading the email that the support mechanism generates. If you don't want us to receive this information you can edit it out of the email generated and we'll still do our best to help you out.
If your application has a problem and crashes, the next time the application is started successfully it will upload a crash report to us. This contains information which will allow us to work out how the application crashed, and often what you were doing just prior to the crash. This is to allow our test and engineering teams to figure out what went wrong, so that we can fix it. Information from crash reports are stored in our internal crash reporting tool and raised in our issue tracking system. We do not believe that there is any likelihood of personally identifying information being recorded in our crash reports. We don't let you switch this off - if you don't want us to do this, don't buy Cellar 2.
We capture general anonymised usage data with Google Analytics. This helps us to improve the application and ensure that it works well for our customers, and identifying aspects of the user interface which aren't. We can't identify you from this data alone. It will usually contain an IP address. Identifying you from this information would require the involvement of several different parties, and we think the chances of any strongly determined individual being able to do so is vanishingly small. We don't let you switch this off - if you don't want us to do this, don't buy Cellar 2.
Support requests are recorded in our issue tracking system. Sending us a support request is entirely your choice, but if you do then you can expect us to retain that information and correspond with you accordingly. We retain support request information and associated logs indefinitely.
We record your activity in Google Analytics. We retain information in this system indefintely. We don't back up this data, but Google probably does, essentially forever. We won't sell this data to other people specifically, but if we are acquired then this data will likely become the property of whoever buys us. We don't think it will be much use to them except for general historical trend analysis.
We record crashes that take place while you are using the application in our internal crash reporting system. We retain information in this system indefinitely. We back this data up, and therefore it will persist, essentially forever. We won't sell this data to other people specifically, but if we are acquired then this data will likely become the property of whoever buys us. We don't think it will be much use to them except for general historical trend analysis.
You have the right to ask us to locate, delete or correct any personal data that we hold on you. If you would like us to do so, please contact us at gdpr@airsource.co.uk.
If you think we are in fact capturing your personal data in ways you don't expect, you should let us know. As a business registered in the UK, you can complain about us to the Information Commisioner's Office here and should they decide your complaint has merit they will take the matter up with us. You can also contact us at legal@airsource.co.uk.
